The data was gathered from five practicing counsellors, using semi-structured interviews and analysed by the Constant Comparative Method. Analysis of the data found that working as a counsellor can adversely affect health and well-being, and that wellness is a holistic phenomenon. A major theme to emerge from the data was that enhanced self-awareness can help prevent a reduction in well-being. Additionally, participants described finding it necessary to take positive action in order to maintain wellness, and many strategies were identified. These findings support research in this area.enresiliencecounsellorsAn exploration of counsellors’ perspectives on factors that influence their well-being and resilienceThesis or dissertation
